Graphics 101 – Workstation
Brief: Construct and use geometrical shapes and solids to create a personal workstation. You are to communicate your designs ideas using knock down (kitset) construction techniques. You are to produce a mock-up and model of your final solution.
Workstation Attributes:
- Space to work on written and graphics work – consider having an adjustable surface for graphics work
- Space for computer and other computer equipment i.e scanner, printer, tablet
- Storage space for books, graphics equipment, pens, paper etc
- Ergonomic factors – chair and work surface height to suit your personal needs.
Brief Requirements
Research
- Existing workstations – the aesthetic style of different workstations.
- Materials that are used to create a knock down workstations – what are the benefits and constrictions
- Knock down constructions and fittings that are needed to create them
- Ergonomics – whats surface height is needed to suit your personal needs. How you sit when working at a workstation.
Concept Sketches
- Describe each sketch stating which parts that you like and parts that can be further developed
Development Sketches
- Develop workstation through series of drawings.
Working Drawings of Final Solution
- Include Exploded Isometric
- Orthographic View
- Elevations with dimensions
